Kiddo woke up and is, of course, tired and cranky. While fussing at one point, the following occured. It's important to note he's going through this little phase with his speech where he wants to be contradictory with me. (i.e. "You're tired." "I'm not tired!" or "You need a bath." "Do not need a bath!")

*Kiddo whines and starts complaining.*
Me: (exasperated and using her "warning" tone) "Christopher..."
Kiddo: "I'm not Christopher!"
Me: "You are too Christopher."
Kiddo: "I'm not two Christopher. One Christopher!"
*Jade just blinks and can't control her laughter.*

My governor is unfit to run my state. Remember how Sanford disappeared last week only to turn up around Monday with his staffers saying, "Oh he just went off to hike the Appalachain Trail over Father's Day." Well, that wasn't true. When he got back last night, he told reporters from The State that he had decided to go to Buenos Aires because he wanted "to do something exotic." Turns out that was a lie as well. Well, partially. He did do something exotic...

Shorter Mark Sanford: "lol i wuz bangin my mistress in Argentina while my wife wuz at home with our sonz on father's day"

I wish I could make this shit up, I really do. My governor leaves the state without telling anyone where he's going just so he can go get his rocks off with his mistress while his wife stays at home in South Carolina taking care of the children he helped make. When he returns he's surprised that people were, rightfully, upset that he left the state without warning or giving any indications where he might go. Only when the news comes out that he was in South America and not the Appalachain Trail do we get the truth out of him.

I could handle have a Republican for governor, I could (and have). I'd probably not agree with much s/he did, but eh, thems the breaks and that's politics. What I cannot abide is a governor who cares so little for his constituents that he would go against his own party as far as not excepting the stimulus package and take it to the Supreme Court, and then he flees, not only the state, but the country in order to chase some tail while leaving his wife at home with their children on Father's Day. These are the same people who want to talk to me about family values and the sanctity of marriage. This guy in particular is supposed to be running my state. I think most everyone, Republicans and Democrats alike, can agree that this is unprofessional and shows Sanford is unfit to lead.

Mr. Sanford, you clearly need help. Please resign and get yourself into some serious therapy ASAP. You having an affair is the least of my concerns. That, I think, is ultimately between you and your wife. It's how you went about having that affair that's the problem. You want to bang your mistress, go ahead, but please arrange for vacation time or have her meet you secretly at a Holiday Inn or something. Just don't abandon your post.
