Can I ask if things are as overpowered as they appeared? I realize I'm not privy to certain plot-sensitive information (spoilers!), but OOC I can't help but be a little concerned.
No, they're not -- and that's parcel of the miscommunication on this issue. Deselynian discussed his character background with the previous Bard -- who did not discuss that background with me, due to real life stuff eating him and requiring him to take an extended break, and screwing up our OOC communication. We're working to adjust the relative power level back down, because that came as a bit of a shock to me, too.
Also: Des is usually much better about not telling people how they react to what he's doing ICly. I think he was just a little off his game last night due to logging on and discovering that -- surprise! -- he's Bard now. On Tuesday he was two votes behind in the election, after all, and he wasn't at the meeting on Wednesday.
Yeeeeah, I understand the headache of communication issues all too well (I've worked on a team of GMs twice before for really large campaigns and let's just say I'm not eager to repeat the experience).
One more question, when we start on Tuesday, are we going to be in SM or will Jarrand have gone off in search of Roori? Folami whispered to Skyspear that there was something else about the mirror she needed to discuss (just not in front of Deselynia due to the obvious trust issues), but I was so tired by that point that I forgot to have her tell Jarrand she wanted his input too.
That's actually something I'm going to have to discuss with Des before a firm decision is made. Jarrand will, in all likelihood, be going in search of Roori at the very least.
Okay, it's not anything huge, it's just about what Folami felt about the presence in the mirror when Des woke up. We could easily just say Folami pulled Jarrand aside before he left and told him without needing to rp it out, and then she can just tell Skyspear separately. Gives him something to think about while traveling to wherever Roori wound up.
That works, and feel free to do so at your convenience. Hell, you could even post it to the RP Forum -- if you like, I will put up an Open RP About Current Events thread so we could get some theoretically real-time response. I actually only got part of what I wanted to accomplish done last night and I actually wanted to do quite a bit more with Krivulka's official IC intro. >_
