Wonder what the 'tweest' will be?

They're doing a live-action Avatar: The Last Airbender. It's going to be directed by, get this, M. Night Shyamalan.

I already see someone from the Twilight movie is lined up to play Sokka. Oh, and Jesse McCartney? Oh yeah, some real quality here! I'm unsure whether this will be unintentionally hilarious or so bad it's good.

I do have to admit that it probably stands a better chance of being worth the price of admission than the live-action Dragonball-Z movie (yes, I'm a hater).

I liked The Sixth Sense and...that's it.

At least it's not Uwe Boll?

Actually, there's already a huge hullabaloo about the casting, because the characters all tend toward Asian/Inuit...and the main character casting so far announced consists entirely of white actors.

Oh yes, I saw a sample of that on [livejournal.com profile] sf_drama. I didn't want to open that particular can of worms just yet. It's baffling though that they can't find one non-caucasian to fill any of the roles? I know that Avatar is not "true" anime in that it's American rather than comes from Japan, but it's quite obvious the characters were not all caucasian.
