General life update. Nonstop stress.
To those of you in a certain filter, Sam and I had a long talk last night. There had apparently been some miscommunication. The important thing is we were able to talk like calm, rational adults (shut up, I can be mature when it matters!), which is due in no small part to the fact that we get along so well even when there's problems. Oh, and that other thing was discussed too.
To those of you not in that filter, it's not anything major. Sam and I are just having a few bumps in the road, but overall we're still pretty awesome and getting along wonderfully.
I've been quiet on LJ/DW due to, well, fighting a cold that's left me really rundown and also due to financial stress. (I originally typed it as "stresss" because apparently my subconcious wants to make sure I express how much stress there is.) I'm not in dire straits, it's just things keep cropping up. On the awesome side, I will be having some money coming in starting at the beginning of next month, if Mom starts paying back on a loan I've given her so she can get a new roof (don't ask). Also, Sam's Mom needs some extra help out at her studio in the evenings soon. If you don't recall, Sam's mother makes pottery and is becoming very popular in the region. Her work is featured in several galleries and she has been overhwhelmed with expos/shows coming up. It won't pay much, but it will get me out of the house and get me doing somewhat creative stuff and learning about pottery (though I have very little artistic talent whatsoever) and every little bit helps. There's wi-fi access out at her new studio and I can bring my laptop so the kiddo can play on starfall.com or other Jade-Approved child-friendly site (and believe it or not, I'm pretty strict about what games/television shows/movies he can have access to). Also, good old crayons, plain paper, and coloring books will be with us.
It's so weird having the mother of my SO actually invite me to help her do stuff and to...be nice to me. I've never had a good relationship with families of whoever I'm dating. Then again, Sam has a pretty awesome family all around.
Anyway, there's lots of applications in my future. Since I'm only looking for part-time (30 hours/week max), I'm just going to apply to local grocery stores and the like for now. It'll be a way to get my foot in the door until something better presents itself. That, and the fact I haven't worked in seven years, so there'll need to be a period of adjustment on my part.
On the family front, there's drama in Mom's family. More on that later.
It's nonstop around here, I'm telling you.
