Home again, home again, jiggity jog...
Jun. 29th, 2009 12:54 amI am home from Atlanta and have been for a few hours now.
Sam and I took another huge relationship step: We shared germs and lovingly infected each other with colds - without realizing it. (It's kind of funny in a way. He's been coughing and had a mild sore throat, while I've been non-stop sneezing and can feel myself getting stuffy like I do right before a cold. Monday is going to be full of me doing a whole lot of nothing with tissue next to me. Neither of us were feeling sick or had any other symptoms all week leading up to the visit.)
I had a really great time, and if I were to be honest, it was one of my better trips to Atlanta. Friday and Saturday night Sam and I stayed up late talking, and it was...really nice. We talked about spirituality, family, our dating lives before we met one another, and there were even a few tears on my part when we talked about last year and about Dad. We really hit on some deep things...but that's some stuff I want to put in a filter.
We saw Terminator: Salvation, which was far better than I was expecting it to be. It's not one of the greatest films of all time or anything like that, but it was a good flick, and apart from one or two scenes where I wanted to strangle McG (the director), it felt like a Terminator movie.
I got a couple of games and got NCIS season two along with Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along Blog. Then I proceeded to get Sam hooked on True Blood season one. In return, my totally awesome boyfriend downloaded and burned me a copy of the season one soundtrack.
When I got to Mom's house, Penny howled at me as usual and has been reluctant to let me out of her sight lest I run off and leave her again. Sasha also pranced around happily and was very excited to get in the truck to go home. Prissy mewed at me very loudly and angrily when I returned home and is probably waiting to pounce on me during the night to fuss at me some more while I try to sleep. Gwen wanted to go outside since I wouldn't let her out Friday before I left, and so she'll probably come back in before bed.
Most importantly, the kiddo ran up to me as soon as he heard me enter the house and I got the best hug. Mom informed me that when she told him I was almost there (I called when I was a few blocks from her house) he turned off the game he was playing and eagerly got his shoes on and helped her pack up whatever else he needed to bring back home with him. I'm looking forward to getting in some snuggle time tomorrow while we play games and/or watch Spongebob on DVD since I fear I won't be able to do much else with this on-coming cold.
It looks like most everyone else had a quiet weekend too (from my short perusal of my f-list), but if I missed anything, feel free to comment. Also, I'm going "WTF?" over the fact that Billy Mays died today. Seriously, is Death behind on his celebrity quota or something?
