I'm just saying...
Oct. 15th, 2010 10:46 pmSo, I'm watching Ghost Adventures on the Travel Channel because I'm morbidly curious and I also have this thing about watching really bad TV sometimes (and it is so bad). I'm not going to sit here and expound on my beliefs on the paranormal tonight, but there is something I want to touch on.
If you're going to a place that has, for centuries, served as a place where people infected with the Bubonic Plague were sent to die, also served as an asylum and a prison for murderers and other violent criminals, maybe you shouldn't tell the possible spirits and whatnot lingering around quote, "I want you to harm me," and "Use my energy" in their native tongue. If you do happen to do this, I don't think you really have the right to be surprised or even upset when said spirits proceed to do just that. You especially look silly if you then go, "They want us to die!"
Ummm...yeah. I suppose the show serves its purpose as entertainment, though I think I'm supposed to be scared and/or start believing in ghosts and things that go bump in the night rather than sitting here laughing my ass off going, "You fucking morons" at my television.
