I have and I miss my ball of fluff. He became an old man and he crossed the rainbow bridge last year. I figure I'll have a dog again someday. Just not now.

As far as the cake is concerned... this is what I do. I lighten up the cake and make it as 'clean' as possible. I will use natural sweeteners or I will cut the sugar with Splenda. Sometimes I use egg beaters in place of whole eggs. If the cake calls for 4 eggs you can use 2 full eggs and 2 egg whites. I always choose a healthy oil in place of butter.

Using this chart:

It is challenging to lighten up icing but it can be done by using light butter (LAND O LAKESĀ® Light Butter with Canola Oil) or 1/3 fat cream cheese. Or you could opt to do a cake without icing and just dust it lightly with confectioners sugar.

Here is an example of how I lightened up brownies:

Another option is angel food cake with fresh strawberries and light whipped cream.

This looks like a wonderful recipe too with fat free yogurt to give the cake moisture.

Cooking light is another great site to search for a cake. http://www.cookinglight.com/

I hope you followed all that. :-)
