Don't tell anyone, but I sort of slipped and fell into PvP the last couple of days.

I know, I know, I'm one of those "PvE ONLY!" types*, but well, I wanted the Merry Maker title, and 2013 is the year I want to get What a Long, Strange Trip it's Been, so I had to go in and kill some Alliance scrubs as a little helper. I did at least purchase PvP gear (the Contender's Silk set) so I wouldn't be completely sucky, and I looked up Affliction warlock for PvP so I could pretend I had half a clue with my off-spec.

Anyway, a friend agreed to sort of hold my hand and went with me for Alterac Valley a couple of times. I ran in, had no clue what I was doing, was having to learn new ways of moving and casting at the same time (which I'd already had some practice with PvE thanks to Kiljaeden's Cunning), plus acting defensively as I took the Grimoire of Sacrifice talent which means I have no pet out. I kept saying, "I have no idea what's going on! What do you mean 'backcap'?" to my friend, who reassured me and explained some of the lingo.

Honestly, it was just like my first time raiding, though a little less awkward this time around as I actually know a thing or two about my class. I'm not the best out there, obviously, and in fact I probably stink quite a bit, but I've been having a blast even when I'm dying five times in a row. I never thought I'd like PvP, and so far I've been pleasantly surprised that the chatter hasn't been any worse than what I encounter in an LFR. I've only reported one person so far for language, which really shocked me.

So, yeah, I've been enjoying it, especially when I nail other warlocks. My only complaint so far has been the freaking rogues and their Sap. Nothing like riding with a group on my mount and getting Sapped, and it always seems to be me, the cloth wearer, they pick on. (My DoTs manage to at least put a dent in them even when they kill me, however.) And as I'm earning Honor Points rather quick, I've managed to purchase more PvP gear to increase my Resilience Rating. I'm pondering taking my Monk, who's still sitting at level 10, through battlegrounds when I get around to leveling her seeing as I've leveled multiple characters via questing and the dungeon finder. Might be a nice change of pace.

So if you're Horde-side and feel like dealing with a noob in random battlegrounds, give me a poke.

* = Though, really, if someone had told me there are battlegrounds where I get to fire missiles at Alliance members, I'd have probably tried it out a long time ago. It's the simple things in life.
