A Rainy Day

I am so sick of rain. It has been raining pretty much non-stop all damn day. My yard looks like it's forming into one giant puddle. Ick. The kiddo is with Mom for the night, and I am glad for the break. It's probably even better since the rain is putting me in a foul mood, as is UPS taking forever to deliver a package.
Oh yes, I used UPS again. I hope I don't regret giving them a second chance. At least this time the package is still listed as "Out for delivery" on the website, and there's so far been no notes about my address not existing or being completely wrong like there was last time. It's almost five o'clock, though. This does not bode well. *grumble*
Poor Sasha has been a miserable puppy today. Usually she spends much of the day outside running around with the neighbors' dogs, but today it's been too cold, and each time she tries to go outside, it's still raining. So she'll step out onto the screened-in porch and lay there for a few minutes to wait for the rain to stop before giving up and asking to come back inside. She keeps giving me the most pathetic look of "I want to play and I can't." It makes me feel guilty, like I should go and do something about the rain or something, especially because she's been on her best behavior today while indoors and, bless her, remaining so calm despite the fact I know she has a ton of energy to burn. Everytime I get up to go check and see if UPS is here, or to grab something, she hops to her feet and watches me because she thinks I'm about to leave and maybe, just maybe, she'll get to ride in the truck with me. I might let her do that later this evening if I go out somewhere just so she can get out of the house.
Penny, as always, is perfectly content to stay inside where it is both warm and dry. If I so much as hint at opening the door to let her out, she tucks her tail between her legs and backs away. ("You'd make me go out in that?! What kind of a monster are you?")
Prissy the cat took the opportunity to snuggle with me under the covers while I finished reading Issola by Stephen Brust in bed (good book, by the way, as is most of the series). It kept us both rather nicely warm. She's spent the rest of the time curled up on the vent in the living room since I have the heat running. ("Oh, I'm sorry, was I supposed to share the warmth? Silly human.")
Still no UPS and I have to head out soon to pick up something left for me at my uncle's store, and then I got roped into taking Mom and the kiddo out to dinner. I'll give them a few more minutes, check the website, and then I'll have to leave. I will not be a happy Jade if I have to spend my Saturday waiting on a package as well.
ETA: It came! Yay, it finally arrived! At almost 5:30!
