Compare and Contrast

If you watched the new Star Trek movie in 2009, you saw Chris Hemsworth's performance as George Kirk. If you need a reminder as to what he looked like, here's a picture:



Pretty standard look for a Starfleet captain. Now, that same actor is playing Thor in the upcoming Marvel Comics movie of the same name. To prepare for the role, Hemsworth beefed up, and I do mean he beefed up.



Oh my.

Ahem. It's probably a good thing George Kirk dies in the opening sequence of Star Trek, because if Chris Hemsworth tried to put on that same onesie now, one breath and he'd rip the entire thing at the seams.

With Anthony Hopkins as Odin and Rene Russo as Frigga, I'm actually looking forward to this movie in 2011.

There's all sorts of images on IMDB, and you can get a look at Anthony Hopkins as Odin. I'll just say he looks very good for his age.

And yes, Sam will want to go for the geek-factor, I'll want to go for that too (even though I'm not a comic book geek), but I'll admit, the eye candy sells me too.
