Insomnia Sucks

The good news is that I'm fairly certain once I settle down with my book in a few minutes, I'll fall asleep in short order. The bad news is that it's almost 3:00 AM. Yes, I'm still running on three nonconsecutive hours of sleep. I tried napping this (yesterday?) afternoon, but that didn't work so well in that my body said, "Hey, the sun's up! Clearly you need to be awake and Doing Stuff."
Tonight's insomnia is fueled a little by caffeine ingestion. Yes, it sounds stupid on the surface, but I had to drink something caffeinated because I had to be awake long enough to make sure the kiddo didn't get into trouble before bed. (Look, it's not that expect him to get in trouble; he's a great child behavior-wise, but if I left it up to him to decide when bedtime is, he'd still be awake right now too. And crankier than a bear fresh out of hibernation.)
Either way, I do get to sleep in tomorrow and I don't have anywhere to be until Monday morning, so there's a fair chance I'll get my much needed rest.
